Depending on your household income and size, you may qualify for:

  • Or up to $15,000 toward a heating system upgrade

Funding to switch from oil heating to a heat pump is available through two SaveEnergyNB programs: the Enhanced Energy Savings Program and the Total Home Energy Savings Program.

Each program starts with a free in-home energy evaluation. After that, your next steps depend on your household income, whether you plan to remove your oil tank, and the types of upgrades you need. You can only choose one program path - here’s what each offers:

Enhanced Energy Savings Program

A No-Cost Program for households earning $70,000 or less. 

How it works:

  • Everything is arranged for you
  • Oil tank removal is required
  • Complete service with zero upfront costs

What's included:

  • Free heat pump and upgrades
  • Heat pump installed by a qualified contractor
  • Free insulation upgrades (if needed)
  • Oil tank removal handled for you

Total Home Energy Savings Program​

An Advance Funding Program for households earning more than $70,000​.

How it works:

  • You choose your contractor and upgrades
  • Oil tank removal is optional
  • Flexible program designed around your needs

What's included:

  • Up to $15,000 in advance funding
  • Advance payment to help cover upgrade costs
  • Can be used for electrical work or oil tank removal
  • Extra rebates on top (heat pump rebates start at $400)
